Citigroup Suspends Foreclosures through January 17

December 18, 2009 by christine

If you have a mortgage serviced by CitiMortgage, you’ve just been given an additional month of time to figure out how to deal with your mortgage.

This article from the APF says it only affects loans owned by Citi, which is confusing. A lot of people think the party who owns the note is the same as the party who services the note, so it’s not clear what they mean by this statement.

The article also says that this will impact 2000 borrowers scheduled to have sales this month and another 2000 who would have received foreclosure notices.
